This is the fuller list of support services promised by section 9 of our Safety Guidelines. It is a signposting page: almost nothing on it is us. The organisations below are independent of Chérie, and you do not need to have used Chérie, or to tell us anything, to contact any of them.
| Who | Number | For what |
|---|---|---|
| Emergency services | 999 | Immediate danger, or someone seriously unwell. |
| Silent Solution | 999, then 55 | If you cannot speak safely. Call 999, and when prompted press 55 — it tells the operator you need police and cannot talk. |
| Police, non-emergency | 101 | Reporting something after the fact. |
| Ask for Angela | Say it at the bar | Any UK licensed venue displaying the scheme. Trained staff will help you leave discreetly. |
| Rape Crisis England & Wales | 0808 500 2222 | Free 24/7 support line for anyone 16+ affected by any form of sexual violence, abuse or harassment — whenever it happened, and whether or not you want to report it. |
That is the complete list we are willing to publish today. We are not going to pad it out with numbers we have not checked ourselves, because a helpline number that has changed is worse than no number at all. The additional services — including local ones, and services outside England and Wales — are: [To be completed — the additional support services, including local and nation-specific services, each with its number and hours re-verified on the day of publication]
If you feel unsafe, uncomfortable or threatened in a licensed venue in the UK, go to the bar and ask a member of staff for “Angela”.
It is a recognised code phrase. Trained staff will understand that you need help without you having to explain, and will discreetly take you somewhere safe, reunite you with a friend, put you in a taxi, or ask the person causing the problem to leave.
It is used across bars, pubs, clubs and restaurants in London and beyond, and posters are usually inside the toilet cubicles. You do not have to justify it to anyone.
Email hello@cherie.social or report in the app. You can tell us as much or as little as you want. We will:
Whether you tell the police is your decision and yours alone. Nobody at Chérie will pressure you either way.
If your complaint is about us — a decision we made, something we got wrong, an account we restricted — that has its own route and its own timescales, at cherie.social/complaints.
We re-check every number on this page before we publish a change to it, and at least every six months. This version was last checked on 10 August 2026. If you call one of these and it does not go where this page says it goes, please tell us at hello@cherie.social — that is the most useful email we could get.
